Abstract: We do good work, but we can only do so much with old tools and methods. With technology moving apace, it is easy to miss how technology shifts the way we can work to vastly increase our scope and impact with stakeholders and decision makers. I’ve had considerable success in areas like Innovation, Exploration and Portfolio Management with things like:

• Modifying workflows in ways that upgrade our practice for key challenges like probability of success, value of information and range assessments.
• Engaging stakeholders more directly through self-service on inputs and insights, increasing ownership, understanding and buy-in of the recommendations and decisions.
• Automating routine modules and analyses, freeing up the decision professional to focus on higher-value-added issues and increasing the scale at which we can operate.
